Nigel Farage has said the European Union is fighting for its survival.
It comes after the EU demanded access to AstraZeneca vaccines manufactured in UK plants as the bloc’s row with the pharmaceutical giant over a shortage of doses intensified.
Speaking to talkRADIO’s Julia Hartley-Brewer, the Reform UK leader said: “You’re now seeing what happens when you have power without accountability.
“Despite all the things this Government has got wrong, one thing they have got right is they put in lots of early orders for the vaccine.
“Compare and contrast with the European Union, or more specifically the European Commission. They got their vaccine orders in three months later.
“Now, for the first time in the European Union, questions are being asked about the European Commission. Gosh I’m enjoying this.
“They know that they’re in trouble… They are fighting for their very survival. That’s why they’re lashing out.”
