'The number of people dying today is the same as it would be any other year'

The number of people dying is “the same as it would be any other year”, despite coronavirus, according to Health data scientist Professor Anthony Brookes.

Speaking with talkRADIO’s Julia Hartley-Brewer, the geneticist said: “Let me just state some very basic facts, no spin here…in terms of people actually infected today it’s probably about one per cent of the population.”

It comes after early data showed a new jab to be almost 95% effective in protecting against the virus.
