Houston-based Axiom Space is teaming up with Elon Musk’s Space X to offer the first ever commercial flights out to the International Space Station.
The trip into orbit will set you back a cool $55 million and will be a 10-day long voyage with two other passengers. Once out of the Earth’s atmosphere, the three guests will be able to enjoy stunning views of our green planet, as well as a two-day training session in microgravity.
“This history-making flight will represent a watershed moment in the march toward universal and routine access to space,” said Axiom Space CEO Michael Suffredini when speaking to TechCrunch. “This will be just the first of many missions to ISS to be completely crewed and managed by Axiom Space – a first for a commercial entity.”
The first trip is due to take place in the latter half of 2021, followed by two trips each year going forward. Time to get saving!
