Tempers flared on Wednesday night’s edition of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! when John Barrowman carried out his duties as camp chef.
The former Doctor Who actor was in the process of dishing out four packets of rice for 11 campers when Rita Simons complained about the dire rations.
Pipping up, the 41-year-old asked her fellow campmates to raise their hands if they thought the quantity of food was too small.
Turning to the celebrities, she asked: “Hands up who wants more rice because I do, put your hands up if you want more.
“It’s too much to squirrel away, and it’s ridiculous.”
After, in the Bush Telegraph, she said: “Everyone’s too scared to speak up about it so I do it in a jokey passive aggressive way.”
Later John, 51, visited the booth to vent about the situation, claiming he was being blamed for doing his job.
“That came out of nowhere,” he gasped, seemingly taken aback by the entire experience.
“All of a sudden people wanted more rice, which is fine, but it was the way it was approached, like it was the blame of the cooks who were doing it.’
At camp John decided to cook all the rice, however, Rita contested, saying she never meant all the rice had to be cooked.
Addressing the actor, she explained: “I’m not by any means saying let’s cook all the rice. All I’m saying it needs to be more than four between us.”
Shortly after Nick Knowles could be seen blaming Rita’s potential period on her blunt behaviour.
Nick told John: “Remember the girls are going to be a bit jumpier because of what time of the month they told us it is.
“We’re going to have that for a couple of days with the girls.”
The 56-year-old added: “Tensions are a little high today that’s why I am just [zipping my mouth].”
Also, in last night’s show viewers complained about ITV airing Anne Hegerty most intimate moments, including her farting.
One viewer moaned: “Can we stop victimising Anne? I’m starting to think it’s why she’s nommed for trials. Shaming her for medical reasons, farting.”(sic)
Another posted: “I know its a joke but stop taking the p*ss out of Anne’s farting.”
A third noted: “Ugh! Can we drop the Anne farts narrative please? She deserves a bit more respect than that.”
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight on ITV at 9pm.
